Interpretation

It is important to note that the survey tool is part of an overall process in choosing a learning website for your lesson. The following section will help you interpret survey results and make an informed decision.

Scenario 1: High percentage (+ 74%) for both content and design.

This scenario makes your decision easy. The learning website appears to be well designed and students should feel motivated while using it.

Scenario 2: High percentage in content and low (- 50%) in design

This website contains a high degree of learning but students may experience de-motivation due to problems in design. You will need to consider what these design issues are and make a decision accordingly. The website may be fine and well worth using or maybe you decide to limit the classroom time used with this website.

Scenario 3: Low percentage in content high in design.

A well designed website with low learning value is not a very ideal teaching tool. Depending on how low the learning value is you may want to either seek another website or accentuate this one with another learning resource.

Scenario 4: Low percentage in both content and design.

A low percentage in both graphs indicates that the learning websites has some obvious weaknesses. This, however, doesn’t necessarily mean that it isn’t worth using. Why the website scored low is a better indication. Chances are though that an entirely different website will need to be considered.
